In April of 2015, Elder Susan Schoeder and Rev. Lorne Bostwick Joined a PCUSA delegation to visit our mission partners, The National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon, in the churches of Syria. In Homs, Yazdeiah, and Feruzi. We visited local congregations who are serving the needs of a war torn country, displaced persons, and refugees. All of this is being done under the threat of rebel attacks specifically targeting Christians. Our mission partners are hard at work providing the necessities of life, the hope of the Gospel, and are engaged in Christian/Muslim dialogue to find a common place for all to live in peace. The church in Syria and Lebanon is feeling very vulnerable. The trends of violence could bring the Christian Church to extinction in the land where it was birthed. We need to pray with our Presbyterian partners in the Middle East as they continue to give their lives for their friends. Please also remember in prayer Rev. Elmarie and Scott Parker our Mission Co-workers in the area.
